How to use the map

Place your cursor on a numbered square above and click on it to see historical information about and photos of the newspaper and/or the relevant building or area in the city as well as a photo of what is there today. See the Index for chronological, numerical and alphabetical listings of the media included in the map. Numbers on the map start with No. 1, Boston’s first newspaper, and are chronologically placed through No. 30. Later additions may not be in chronological order. Site navigation is done through the section names at the TOP of each page.

The site was created with Apple software and it’s best viewed on browsers Chrome and Safari. The interactive map was done through MapsAlive software. The font used is Constantia.
